It’s actually July 25th now, and I am just now getting around to posting these. They were taken on the same day as some of the photos below. But for purposes of keeping things straight in my head, I am going to label them by the date they were taken, not the date they were posted.
This little guy (or girl?) seems to be our resident turtle this year. But this was the first day that I felt up to going out and taking his photo when he while he was making an appearance. I call him “Our Turtle who likes to live Dangerously”. Trust me, he has earned this nickname. Almost every time we see him, he’s living dangerously. He likes to walk along the fence line by the dogs. He seems to like to try to taunt loose dogs. Who (luckily for him), haven’t cared much about his presence one way or the other. He likes to spend a lot of time on the driveway up our hill. He likes to hang out underneath of our vehicle. You name it, if it’s risky, he’s been seen doing it.
It’s gotten to the point where we check for him anytime we drive on the driveway, and try to remember to look for him underneath our vehicle before pulling out. It is not uncommon to see a turtle in a road, etc. It’s just the fact that he makes these more dangerous locations his regular pattern of choice. And he seems to get a real enjoyment out of pestering Odie (one of the dogs) in particular.
I actually saw him this day because Odie was looking at him and looking at me like, “There he is again.” If Odie could have given an eyeroll, I’m sure he would have. 😉
Starting to think about hiding from me:
So I backed up a little and then he starts looking to see where I’m going.
